you will be judged on the costume you wear during the skit.

2. Each group may contain up to 10 members.

Rules for Costumers:

- All costumes must come from an anime, video game, manga or jrock/jpop artist.

- All costumes must be entered by their creator. Costumes maybe worn by models,
but prizes will be awarded to the person who created the costume, so both applicants must be present
at the pre-judging and the contest. If you choose to use a model, be sure to include this information on your application.

- Commissioned (paying a person to make your costume) or store-bought costumes are not allowed.

- Weapons must be approved before they can be allowed on stage. Weapons must be peace-bonded.
No live steel is allowed. If participants are seen using a weapon inappropriately (play fighting, waving it around, etc.)
they will be automatically disqualified and might potentially be removed from the con.

- Participants are highly encouraged to submit reference materials
(printed photos of the character/costume in you are cosplaying).
While the judges are well-versed in anime and costume construction they might not remember every detail of
say Chii’s outfit that was worn for two pages in the 5th volume of Chobits. The more esoteric the costume the more
you will benefit from providing a photo(s) of the character with your entry form.

- No nudity or risqué costumes. This is a family show and will contain young contestants.

- All contestants who enroll in the costume contest must attend pre-judging to compete in the contest.

Rules for Cosplayers:

- All skits must be under 3 minutes in length.

- No sexual innuendo, profanity, nudity, or play fighting/choreographed fighting on stage.
Our show is meant to be viewed by all ages so keep this in mind when planning your skit.

- No projectiles (such as liquids, sprays, silly string ect) or pyrotechnics/flammable materials.
No messes, if it goes on stage with you, it must go off stage with you as well.

- Music – Music CDs are accepted. If your skit includes music be sure to include the track number on your application.
MP3s are not allowed. If you need to include pauses in your music they must be prerecorded into the song itself,
the DJ doesn’t take special requests for the contest.

- Microphones will be available to contestants so long as they list it on their application.

What to expect at the contest:

1. Pre-Judging

Contestants who will be entering the costume contest will be required to attend pre-judging.
Contestants who are entering only the cosplay portion don't need to attend pre-judging.

Contestants will meet at 2:00 for costume pre-judging in Panel Room B. If you have any reference
material or music CDs, you must give them to the judges at costume pre-judging. Reference
materials and cds won’t be accepted at registration. Pre-judging gives the judges
a chance to look over costumes and ask questions about their construction prior to the
event so the costume's creator should be in attendance with the model.  Judges will be
evaluating costumes based on the following criteria: accuracy, creativity, and technique.
Judging will decide upon the costume winners following pre-judging and winners will be
announced following the contest.

2. Cosplay/Costume Contest

Participants will meet at 7:00, 30 minutes before the show starts.
Roll call will be given 20 minutes before the show where contestants will receive their number in line.
Contestants in the junior division (ages 14 and under) will go first, followed by pre-registered contestants,
and finally contestants who registered at the convention. Contestants must arrive on time for roll call
or they will not be admitted into the contest.

After roll call, contestants will be asked to line up and will be escorted to where the contest
will take place. Remember to remain quiet while the other contestants are on stage. Contestants
will be announced by the MC and will go on stage. Contestants that are not performing a
skit are encouraged to do a couple of poses (7 seconds for each pose) so the audience can take
pictures of their costume. If you are doing a skit you will have 3 minutes or less to perform your
skit and then exit the stage. After you’ve preformed, please return to your seat at the back
of the auditorium. After all the contestants have left the stage, the judges will take a brief
recess to choose the winners for the cosplay contest and will then announce the winners.
