Rules for Costumers:

3. All costumes must come from an anime, video game, manga or
jrock/jpop artist.

4. All costumes in the costume contest must be entered by their
creator. Costumes may be worn by models, but prizes will be
awarded to the person who created the costume, so both
applicants must be present at the pre-judging and the contest.
If you choose to use a model, be sure to include this information
on your application.  Cosplayers can wear any costume they like.
It doesn't matter if they've made the costume or not.

5. Commissioned (paying a person to make your costume) or
store-bought costumes are not allowed in the costume contest.
They are allowed in the cosplay contest.

6.  Weapons must be peace-bonded. If participants are seen
using a weapon inappropriately (play fighting, waving it around,
ect.) they will be automatically disqualified and might potentially
be removed from the con.

7. Participants for the costume contest are highly encouraged to
submit reference materials (printed photos of the
character/costume in you are cosplaying). While the judges are
well-versed in anime and costume construction they might not
remember every detail of say Chii’s outfit that was worn for two
pages in the 5th volume of Chobits. The more esoteric the
costume the more you will benefit from providing a photo(s) of
the character with your entry form.

8. No nudity or risqué costumes. This is a family show and will
contain young contestants.

Special Rules for Cosplayers:

1. All skits must be under 3 minutes in length.

2. No sexual innuendo, profanity, nudity, or play
fighting/choreographed fighting on stage. Our show is meant to
be viewed by all ages so keep this in mind when planning your
skit. If your skit exclusively relies

3. No projectiles (such as liquids, sprays, silly string ect) or
pyrotechnics/flammable materials. No messes, if it goes on
stage with you, it must go off stage with you as well.

4. Music – Music CDs are accepted. If your skit includes music
be sure to include the track number on your application. MP3s
are not allowed. If you need to include pauses in your music
they must be prerecorded into the song itself, the DJ doesn’t
take special requests for the contest.

5. Microphones will be available to contestants so long as they
list it on their application.

What to expect at the contest:

1. Pre-Judging

Contestants who will be entering the costume contest will be
pre-judged at Cosplay registration

If you have any reference material or music CDs, you must give
them to the judges at registration.

Pre-judging gives the judges a chance to look over costumes
and ask questions about their construction prior to the
event so the costume's creator should be in attendance with
the model.  Judges will be evaluating costumes based on the
following criteria: accuracy, creativity, and technique. Judging
will decide upon the costume winners following pre-judging and
winners will be announced following the contest. You will
receive your number at the cosplay desk.

2. Roll Call

Participants for the Costume Contest will meet at 2:45 at the
Cosplay desk for roll call.

Participants for the Cosplay Contest will meet at 4:45 at the
Cosplay Contest for roll call

Contestants must arrive on time for roll call or they will not be
admitted into the contest.

After roll call, contestants will be asked to line up and will be
escorted to where the contest will take place. Remember to
remain quiet while the other contestants are on stage.

Contestants will be announced by the MC and will go on stage.

Contestants for the costume contest are encouraged to do a
couple of poses (7 seconds for each pose) so the audience can
take pictures of their costume.

Contestants for the cosplay contest will have 3 minutes or less
to perform their skit and then exit the stage. After you’ve
preformed, please return to your seat at the back
of the auditorium.

After all the contestants have left the stage for each contest,
the judges will take a brief recess to choose their winners.
